December Webinar Recap

ShopYourLikes team members Chelsea and Michael sit down to talk about how to analyze your performance with ShopYourLikes, maximize your earnings, and holiday tips for your content.

Holiday Content Hacks

Keep an eye on your analytics with your Instagram and your ShopYourLikes account, especially during the holiday season. Figuring out the best times to post will really benefit you when it comes to engagement and ultimately, your earnings as well. During the holidays, your followers are doing the majority of their shopping, so they’re looking to you for the best products and sales. Take advantage of this by posting links to products that you think your followers will genuinely be interested in so there will be a better chance that they will drive real sales to retailers. Another way to curate the best content this holiday season is to get personal with your followers. (It’s not as weird as it sounds!)

Showcasing your family traditions or sharing what your favorite holiday foods are great ways to connect and engage with your followers so that you can build a trusting relationship with them. The more credible you are, the more likely you are to get more clicks on your links.

Instagram stories are a great way to show your Christmas decorations or your table setting for the holidays, and you can link your products as well. Because there are so many huge sales happening in the winter months, people can have trouble finding the best deals. Take this as an opportunity to narrow down the best sale items into a list that you can share with your followers on your story. This shows them that you truly care about their interests and that you spent time curating special content just for them.

ShopYourLikes Features

After hearing your feedback about wanting a way to save old links, we’ve just launched our Link Journal. Now any time you create a link with the Link Generator, it will be saved in your Link Journal. This makes it easier to copy your links and post them on your social platforms.

Another important tool is our Instagram shop tool. This is a really fun, interactive way to give your Instagram audience an e-commerce perspective. It mirrors your Instagram, except you are able to tag the actual products in your photos that you post on your feed. You can embed the link to this tool in your Instagram bio to drive even more traffic, clicks, and sales.

How to analyze your performance

To maximize your conversion rate and increase your performance score (70 or above is considered good), make sure you are being really detailed with your followers in regard to the products you are promoting. Share with them why you like a certain pillow or piece of furniture so that they can be confident in what they are clicking on and hopefully purchasing. On your dashboard, you’ll find a breakdown of traffic by retailer so you can see which retailers you need to focus on promoting more. Below there, you can select which analytics you want to see for a certain retailer. If you see that Macy’s is performing really well, for example, you might want to focus on driving more traffic and sales to them for the holiday season so that you can potentially see an increase in your earnings per click. You are also able to see which of your ShopYourLikes links are performing the best, so you can determine how to adjust your content to drive more engagement. All of these metrics refresh every 24 hours.

Q&A

Any new retailers coming on board in the near future?

We are always in contact with retailers to expand our network. If you have any specific retailers that you would like to see, let us know!

Do adjustments happen often?

No, but they can happen. We are a performance-based company, so we are trying to drive more than just traffic. So, there can be instances where an influencer is driving a lot of traffic, but it is not converting into sales. In that case, we would adjust their earnings per click. This is rare, however.

Do you have a referral program?

Yes! If you go into Manage Account on your ShopYourLikes profile, you will find a unique referral code that you can share with your friends. Once you can make up to $100 for each friend who has earned $300 with our platform.

How long has ShopYourLikes been around?

ShopYourLikes officially went live at the end of November 2017.

What’s the easiest way to find, convert, and post links?

Go to a retailer’s website, find a product, copy that URL, paste it in our Link Generator, and you will have a unique monetizable link that you can post on any platform with an active, engaged audience.

Is there a cost to join your platform?

Nope! There is no commitment on your end, because we are here to help you and add to your content that you’re already publishing.

Which retailer works best for kitchen items?

It’s all about finding which retailer works best for you—Macy’s, Kohls, and Walmart are all great options. Always look at the performance score to maximize your earning potential.

Am I able to jump on a call with you to talk about my progress?

Absolutely! We are here to help you make the most of your social media, so we would love to talk with you over the phone!

Is Instagram only “Link in bio”?

As of now, the only clickable links are in the bio itself. You can’t put a clickable link in your feed posts, however you can post links in your stories and highlights.

How does Pay-Per-Click work?

Retailers’ budgets for each month will determine how much we can pay per click, as well as the quality of traffic you are driving to retailers. At the end of the day, we are a performance-based company.

Do retailers go off and online often?

If you do see that a retailer is offline, it is likely going to be at the end of the month for a few days when their budget runs out. It is unlikely you will see retailers offline at the beginning of the month.

If I have multiple Instagram accounts, can I use the Instagram shop tool for both?

As of now, you can only link one account to your ShopYourLikes profile. If you wanted to link a second one, you would have to create a secondary ShopYourLikes account.
